The Powerhouse of Germany

Germany’s financial powerhouse is packed with culture and is also one of the greenest cities in Europe.

Frankfurt combines an exquisitely beautiful historical core with a dazzlingly new financial district bristling with skyscrapers, and great swathes of green parkland. The birthplace of Goethe, Frankfurt is nowadays Germany’s fifth largest city, and home to numerous festivals as well as an extraordinarily good range of museums, arranged neatly along the banks of the River Main. Come during the Apple Wine Festival for a taste of Frankfurt’s favourite beverage, a delicious drink called schoppe or äppler in local dialect.
